Snakes on a Plane

So I am not sure about snakes on a plane but we do, apparently, have snakes in our toilet. Lucy is on strike from going #2 because she thinks that a snake came out of her bottom and hurt her. She is still in her rookie season of potty training so we'll have to see how this one ends up. But it did cause me to remember a fear that I at times have had. It has crossed my mind that there could be snakes or rats in a toilet. Not because it is likely but because it happened to somebody. And because it happens to 1 in 1 bajillion people it could happen to me. So, what I am saying is - there's a chance. (If you don't get that please do yourself a favor and watch Dumb and Dumber). I was talking to my brother about water skiing and remembering that feeling of when I fell and just sitting there in the lake waiting for the boat to circle back around. It does me no good to watch movies about gigantic crocodiles or piranhas. I just think of the "what ifs" too much. I am a great big chicken, which is pretty obvious at this point. But I am wondering if I am the only one. You cannot leave comments unless they include your own chicken stories.

On Turning 30

I (Jenny) turned 30 last Saturday. We celebrated by going to San Antonio. I wanted to do something excited and embrace that I am in another decade of life. Well, we did have an exciting day along with thousands of other people that were also dumb enough to spend the day at SeaWorld in 100 degree weather. Even though I was having a great time at the park my two most memorable moments of the day happened on the drive home. The first was the man, I mean men, in this picture. They were the entertainment at Andy's Steakhouse in Fredricksburg, TX. It's times like these that make me want to stay in Texas forever. I love it. Words cannot explain how funny this was or how good the chicken fried steak tasted. It was our own special present.
The second best (but first in importance) moment came when I got in between the two carseats to ease Owen's getting-a-tooth-pain. While he was holding my finger with his little hand, Lucy started rubbing my arm until she fell asleep. At that moment I realized that my life was really exciting every day. Each day has something that makes me feel so much more special than celebrating a birthday ever could. Enjoy all those little moments.

SeaWorld

We lathered up in sunscreen. We played really hard. We got really wet. We payed way too much for a drink. We watched our kids have a once in a lifetime experience. It was great! Now we are too tired to talk about it.

LensCrafters Supermodel

Lucy found my old fake glasses at our garage sale this weekend. She also found about 10 other things that we were trying to get rid of and just calmly made her pile like it was more of a scavenger hunt than a betrayal. Oh well. She was so cute in these glasses that I let her keep whatever she found.

Wedding Bells

After over a year of dating, one of my dearest friends is getting married. We have been friends for 27 years. We have shared clothes, shoes, a boyfriend, sad times, very sad times, good times, really good times, lip gloss, busses to camp, a table and phone at Fat Harvey's and millions of memories. I am so excited for her. She has found a really great guy that has gotten her to dance - literally and figuratively.

When we were younger I remember sitting on my waterbed (that should tell you how long ago) and listening to the dedications on FM 105. We were uncontrollably excited to hear "Alone" by Heart. I dedicate that song to her now.
"Til now I always got by on my own. I never really cared until I met you." There are not many out there that can rock it like Heart.
